VERG doubles down on Brooklyn with new veterinary emergency hospital location
On November 8, 2017, Veterinary Emergency & Referral Group, a specialty and emergency veterinary hospital group with two locations in Brooklyn, announced the opening of its new VERG-North hospital in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood.
VERG-North hospital is located at 196 4th Ave., less than a mile away from its original Warren St. location. The larger, new facility has two floors, which are fully-outfitted to meet the needs of VERG’s doctors and its furry patients, as well as an outdoor, fenced-in rooftop that serves as a walking rehabilitation area. What’s more, the larger space allows VERG to expand its emergency and specialty medical-care capabilities, provides room for new state-of-the-art equipment, and enhances the overall experience for both pets and pet parents.
“Moving to our new home has been a massive undertaking and we couldn’t be more excited to share this new facility with pets and pet parents throughout our community,” said Dr. Brett Levitzke, medical director at VERG. “This new space allows our doctors, specialists and team members to treat more pets and provide additional top-quality care options to our patients. Our hospital’s new services and features, in addition to those that we previously offered, have really helped to create a full-care experience for our patients and their owners.”
New features and improvements at VERG-North include, separate feline, small dog and large dog waiting areas, separate canine and feline lodging areas, a conference room for continuing education programs for local veterinarians, an increased number of exam rooms and surgical suites, a dedicated ICU area, separate outpatient and inpatient treatment areas, and an isolation area with separate airflow to minimize potential contamination.
Additionally, the new hospital will host improved suites for diagnostic imaging, including MRI, CT, radiology, echocardiogram and ultrasound.
With VERG’s newly expanded services and mission to provide quality care, the Brooklyn community can rest assured that their pets’ health will be in good hands.
